A specially trained service dog can be the difference between a life of existing and a life of living for people living with CRPS/RSD, Fibromyalgia, EDS, POTS, and other chronic illnesses. I know this, because working with a service dog gave me back my life after CRPS burned most of it away.
Disabled Advantage helps people disabled by chronic conditions, such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS/RSD), train their own mobility assistance dog from day one with a new dog to the finished stage of working smoothly in public as a team. I'll be with you every step in this journey. Coaching sessions are a great way to ask me questions and receive one-on-one guidance through a new diagnosis or deciding if a service dog is right for you. Pet owners with CRPS, another disability, or those without a chronic health concern can sign up for lifestyle training to learn how to establish house manners & reliable behavior, such as how to be gentle, in order to live in harmony with their dogs and have adventures in the real-world. CRPS owners specifically will learn tips for communicating with their dog and being consistent while being in pain.
All of our courses take the dog and owner's skill level from simple to precision ability, and strive to make it possible for any dog and owner team to take what they've learned and apply it to daily life, whether that dog is a working dog or a companion dog.

I believe that training your dog and setting up a stable life for both of you is a lot like making something new out of building blocks. If the base is shaky, the whole construct is more likely to fall apart if it is stressed or challenged. To help you have a reliable outcome with your dog from training, I take the time to help you build up yourself, your dog, and your life together brick by brick with a solid foundation. I implement strategies from dog training and psychology, horse training, and my own experiences of needing to look for creative ways to adapt to a life of disability. Everything I teach you, I use with my own dogs, every day.
